Carl 'Posty' Postlethwaite launched his company GET ACQUAINTED at the end of the 1930s. While graduating from the University of Kansas, Posty was also a cartoonist for the Lawrence Journal World Newspaper. After graduation, he combined his cartoon skills, newspaper experience, and business degree and created GET ACQUAINTED. He continued this business until the United States was drawn into World War II.

In 1947, he decided that dealing with egos from a large art department was not what he really wanted to do. So he resigned and try to get a new vision for his business. A university friend, Jack Morris, used to work for the Business Men's Assurance Company. Jack asked Posty to develop a card to be sent to BMA policyholders by the BMA President. He conceived it, had it printed and delivered it on time. With our first satisfied customer, Posty Cards became a reality.
